The business was founded in May 1984 and incorporated in1988. Jim Parker started the company as a small local contractor in the Auburn, Alabama area.

Our diverse scope of work has given us a unique opportunity to help large institutional clients as well as small business owners and entrepreneurs. By use of our experience and knowledge respectively, we strive to serve our clients as advisors, contractors and managers by assuring that our customers are getting the highest quality product in a timely fashion within budget. Our past customers include the Department of Labor, Retirement Systems of Alabama, Auburn University, University of Alabama, Wal-Mart, USDA, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Regions Bank to mention a few. 

Our centrally located office gives us the ability to quickly and effectively respond to changing project conditions and requirements, enabling us to manage the construction of many large and complex projects throughout the region. Our company has sustained its growth as a general contractor, continuing to move into larger commercial and industrial markets as well as healthcare facility renovations and design-build projects. The company utilizes advanced computers and office equipment in conducting its business operations, and current, updated computer software is used daily by all Jim Parker Building Company, Inc. employees for estimating, scheduling, accounting, marketing and human resources activities.
